Interview: Underminded

Stylinzine.com: Hi Guys, well to start with, how about a round of intros?
Underminded: I'm Matty O'Connell and I play guitar and run around the stage like an
idiot. Oh, and I'm from Canada.

Stylinzine.com: Who would you say is your biggest inspiration in life?
Underminded: Ummm. That's a tough one. I guess my Dad. He's a lot cooler then your average human being.

Stylinzine.com: Which recording artist do you identify with most?
Underminded: I dunno. I guess any band we've ever toured with. We all know what its like to be in an indie band. The pluses, the negatives, the accomplishments and the struggles.

Stylinzine.com: What would you say is the best quality about your music?
Underminded: I remember getting an email a while back from this kid who said that our music really helped him get through a really tough time in his life. And, I mean, I think if kids can connect with our music to an extent where it helps them through life problems, then I would say that's a really good quality about our music.

FEATURES	Stylinzine.com: What are your future plans in terms of your music, album, and so forth? Underminded: We're currently working on our sophomore album entitled, "Eleven:Eleven". We're hoping to have it out by the end of the summer time. Stylinzine.com: Which 'one hit wonder' (thus far) do you feel disserved a more lasting career? Underminded: Uh. That Stacy's Mom band, I guess. Stylinzine.com: What do you think it takes to carry off a great performance/show? Underminded: Well Go-Go dancers, for sure. Maybe some sort of huge pressurized guns that spray large amounts of silly string into the crowd. Yeah. Expect that one from us soon. Stylinzine.com: Given the choice, which would you prefer and why, - lead singer of a group or solo artist? Underminded: Lead singer of a group. Chicks don't dig solo artists. Stylinzine.com: What is your favorite song of all time? Underminded: They Might Be Giants - Birdhouse in Your Soul

Stylinzine.com: If you weren't in the entertainment biz what would you be doing?
Underminded: Probably going to school, writing exams and mid terms. Studying and
doing homework every night, not having a social life. So I guess you could say I'm pretty stoked to be playing music right now.

Stylinzine.com: Which band/soloist do you think has standout style?
Underminded: Imogen Heap. Hands down.

Stylinzine.com: By the end of the year what do you hope to accomplish in terms of
your career?
Underminded: I'd really like to maybe go to Australia, if not Europe, again.

Stylinzine.com: What would the most flattering concert review about you say?
Underminded: That we we're the best looking band they had ever seen. Kidding.
Anything positive, I guess.
