Sometimes the world can seem overwhelming, and sometimes the obvious just isn't as clear as it ought to be, but fear not, as Prudence has a thing or two up her sleeve to clear the confusion. So sit back & let it all fall into place with just a few little helpful hints and bits just a scroll away.

Ever notice the ridiculously heightened emphasis and obsession on priming up to be gorgeous mirror reflections?

Beautiful People

“Beautiful people make the world go round, while the less ‘gifted’ blend into the wood work…” No that’s not some kind of a quote from a jilted poem rather it’s an evident cultural motto we seem to have created. Perhaps unaware of its shallow stature and perhaps it’s an idea that no one intended to create yet it became a predominant fixture in just about every society.

Every culture develops and focuses on certain norms, views, and ideals about a multitude of issues, all of which creates an identity for a generation or race. Among this spectrum of notions perhaps the most misrepresented one of all is the core of human beauty.

Every year countless men and woman spend hours at the gym, thousands on plastic surgery and image altering cosmetics while trying to meet the impossible standards set by Barbie and Ken. Who ever said that beautiful means a certain height or weight, or a specific degree of abs and biceps? Blame it on the media or even the toy companies after all a short lanky G.I. Joe is yet to hit the shelves of Toys ‘R’ Us. Likewise Cosmopolitan or Esquire have years a head of them before they consider a cover model unadulterated by the miracle of air brushed photo editing.

Though the bridges built by beauty discrimination have come a long way since brunettes with gorgeous mocha skin first appeared on the pages of the Victoria’s Secret catalogues or on the cover of Vogue for instance. Ethnic beauty and the mystique in a wide array of looks replaced preconceived notions of gorgeous people symbolized and limited by the physical attributes carried of by the likes of Marilyn Monroe or Clark Gable per say.  In fact companies like ‘United Colors of Benetton’ made the concept of beauty without limits their core campaign. In the mean time international models like Alec Wak came on to the scene as the face of unconventional allure. While stereotypical good looks may have taken an under studies role, those criterions have yet to leave the stage that toys with self-confidence, and acceptance. Expression and examples of true beauty is a secret encoded in what it means to be ‘Beautiful people’.

There is of course nothing wrong with enhancing one’s self image and taking care of there looks however there is a vast difference between grooming up and obsessing or judging on the bases of the canvas bestowed upon us since birth.

While globalization is an expanding concept between continental barriers; there are some regions that have yet to embrace the liberating new norms of the unmasked facets of an attractive race. As such some regions correlate beauty with the image set by tales of fair maidens in the pages of stories like Snow White. As a global race the qualities or essence of beauty shine through our integrity, personality and the ‘pretty’ or ‘handsome’ inner features we possess within. This by far bares more depth than lashes and dimples that are nothing more than just mere physical traits that say little about the stunning person within or the ‘beautiful’ heart we’re drawn to.

"After the rain, the rainbow lights-up the skies...and the sadness that once was seems to matter a little less with each passing moment...bringing about the feeling, that life goes on no matter what, and that the hardships along the way only make us stronger....less inclined to break...hence.. .better for it..."

The Greatest Problem of All

Friction is the cause of all ‘evil’. It is as simple as that! There are too many fights and entirely too much conflict out there. There just doesn’t seem to be much room for any kind of social calm to be possible. There seems to be more disagreements then agreements and an incessant urge to pass judgments rather than accept or at least respect.

As a race it seems we’ve stooped low to a place where we’re too petty and judgmental to simply live through the moment rather than fight it. Everyone has there two cents to deliver and while there is nothing wrong with voicing an opinion there is something tragically wrong in being derogative and callous.

Freedom of speech is a pivotal tool in democratic societies, however it is a privilege to use wisely and not a right to abuse.
