When it
comes to fashion the emphasis tends to tilt towards, labels, hyped
style, and shifting trends. Designers as such sprawl across the
globe from Milan to NY, fussing about with beads and tassels, while
putting together the perfect outfit to grace runways and the pages
of fashion magazines.
Amidst this primed glamour, there may be a need for a more focal
setting for mainstream styles, and designers who have the talent and
skill but may need a tiny nudge towards spotlight discovery and
recognitions on the shelves of Rodeo Drive.
It comes
down to a unique creative niche that simply doesn’t mesh into the
“been there done that…” scene. On that note we came across a truly
encouraging designer — Linda Finstad, who about half a decade back
introduced “Hats By
Emmanuel”. A business directed at creating hip head gear for
women and children dealing with hair loss as a consequence of
chemotherapy.
Linda is
a designer with heart but the reality which may have been evident is
that ‘realistic’ often takes the back seat to ‘trendy’.
