  Why Fashion Matters:

the significance of style and allure

Fashion might seem like a rather frivolous genre  at first glance. With all the really serious issues that bounds us every single day. So when we face triumphs (small or big) everyday; who has time to take “fashion” into account , it’s not like it saves lives or anything, or Does it?? Sounds a bit over the top or perhaps a tiny winy  bit too emphasized right? But seriously cloths, the basic element of fashion is initially meant to shield and protect, thus save us from harm.   In winter, coats look cute and keep us from freezing to death, while firemen, divers, and astronauts, dawn gear that fits the practical aspects. The style aspects of fashion dictate our vanity and individuality, cause lets face it, when your feeling down in the dumps, a pair of really cute shoes can make the day seem a tiny bit more promising.....

Give yourself a make over at least once a year, it doesn't have to be a big one but it will make a big difference in how you feel, so go on, give yourself a 'spring clean' and a new look that's contemporary and refreshed (you wouldn't want to go stale now would you?)

Mostly A’s

Original and confident

When it comes to looking good, you’ve mastered the trait down to a ‘T’. You know what looks good and are confident enough to sport it well. You are aware of the current trends and know how to incorporate your own tastes into each seasonal trend with absolute ease.

Mostly B’s

Trendy

Fashion to you is all about fun. As such you aren’t afraid to be bold or try new things. You keep up with the latest trends, and even if you don’t pull together your best possible look, you have fun playing up each season’s newest concoctions.

Mostly C’s

A reflection of hype

No matter how wacky or chic you’ll wear it simply because it is promoted as a seasonal highlight. Fashion to you is synonymous with hype.  You simply feel out of place you are wearing anything other than the season’s top sellers. You are a poster child for the ‘now’ is fashion

Mostly D’s

Classic

Your closet doesn’t emulate a fashion magazine nor do you dress outdated. To you less is more and style is all about chic simplicity. You dress appropriately for every occasion without making clothes the central highlight. To you style is subtle, understated and fashionable without trying too hard.

True Style or Not ?

True Stylin' chicas know the real deal behind fashion, and each new trend. This guide is for the Stylin' individuals who want more than just a boring old list............

This is a fashion's DOs & DON'Ts guide with a twist. it's not one of those overly trite, repeated lists on what to wear this season & what to leave behind....I mean who doesn't everyone know by now that leather boots are out this summer (think stinky feet, ya right way fashionable, maybe in skunk land)

Ultimate style is about  predicting the "What's hot" "What's not" lists in fashion Magazines yourself. These lists are for fun .....& aren't meant to serve as a shopping list....

fashion, style, international diversity, & the unity fashion aims to bring by incorporating global trends and style brings about the creative aspects of style & allure....Comfort, confidence, and individual finesse is always in! With the right elements everyone can look/be fashionable, and completely in mode, their own way....Make fashion fun, new, & exciting .....

1.COORDINATE
Coordination includes: Fabrics, Size, Colors, Accessories, Patterns, Undertones, Pieces, (FS CAP UP). This is about putting the “right” pieces together.

2. DRESS THE PART

Keep in mind the occasion, this is basically about  knowing what to wear, when and where.
This is primarily influenced by time, event, mood, & place (TEMP).

3. FEEL/BE COMFORTABLE
"Comfortable" doesn't just mean flannels & sweats It's about feeling like the clothes your wearing are yours, feeling good in them, and truly like them. Seeing yourself and being able to say, "I look great".

4. BUY WHAT YOU WANT & LIKE, KEEPING IN MIND WHAT'S IN   (rather than what's in "Vogue" or "Elle", or what looked good on you years back)
Find your own version of the latest fashion, look at the Cuts, Colors, and Lengths, of each season,

THAT IS:

CUT -- straight cut clothes (tube like dresses), angled cuts, (diagonal cut dresses and tops)
multiple cuts, symmetrical, etc.......
COLOR -- deep plums, pastels, neutral/khaki/beige, bright and vibrant, light baby shades, etc.....
LENGTH -- 3/4 (like caprices/ elbow length shirts) 1/2 (skirts above the knee, tops half way across the arm), or full lengths, etc....

5. BE PROPORTIONED

Keeping in mind your personal frame (short, tall, small, or not) Monochromatic ensembles slim & heighten, as well as vertical cuts or stripes; also one lengths (a dress that gives one smooth line rater than a skirt and top combo which cuts down the height); (opposite for the opposite affect)

6. REMEMBER FASHION ISN'T "MONO"

Fashion isn't just one thing, it about variation & a vast range, it’s about a wide spectrum influenced by color, style/design, and season, (DSS); it’s also about adapting the styles of the past decades and incorporating that into today’s styles & the styles of tomorrow.

1. LIKE WHAT EVERYONE ELSE LIKES, jump on the bandwagon and love whatever the fashion models are wearing....

2. MAKE SUDDEN PURCHASES, buy something straight of the mannequin on display at your favorite store/boutique.... (you’re not plastic after all, so try it out first and see if you look & feel great in it)

3. ASSUME, that if it fits and the sales lady says that it's what's "in" right know, it's got to be right....

4. GO FOR THE SEASON’S LATEST colors, patterns, and other styles even if it’s completely unflattering to you, (sometimes you can look out of style EVEN if your wearing the latest, if it just wasn't meant for you)

5. MIX BULK WITH BULK
(in fact avoid bulk all together as much as possible, especially if you’re small framed)

6. MAKE SUDDEN DRASTIC CHANGES
to your wardrobe (in a spur of the moment, burn everything old, major shopping spree kind of way) in the name of fashion......

Each season brings about a new spectrum that offers a wide range, (other wise, all of us  'fashionable' people would look like we were in uniform)

Fashion:

what it is and what it Should be...

Fashion encompasses & is defined by 'New' & 'Refreshed' styles; Style is all about attitude, confidence, & distinct individuality.....

Understanding fashion & changing styles, being completely in tune and oh so a la mode every season, & every year is what true style is about. Fashion is about more than just rushing out to buy the top 10 hottest trends, (listed in fashion Magazines or websites). Achieving Fashion Sense & Style, involves understanding the elements influencing the evolving trends. Ultimate S T Y L E comes your unique aesthetic perception and understanding what looks good on YOU...that's what's fashionable on you....

Fashion is a global, and even a eternal part of our lives. Everyone has to "Dress" and have done so for centuries now. Fashion/style is about how we carry ourselves; it doesn't even have to just solely imply "Clothes".
At a time before people knew about fiber & the creation of cloth, (before closets were needed) people wore their birthday suits, and even today there appears to be rare regions across the globe that hold on to that "bare bottomed" era.
What we do or don't wear is a statement & expression of our surrounding environment. Fashion characterizes & separates each time period; you can simply guess the decade or era portrayed in an old movie, or illustrated in an old magazine (or other medians alike), simply by the costumes worn.
To some extend it characterizes the diversity between the cultures/regions worldwide. The whole concept of the varying national costumes is influenced by each cultures way of life, tradition, and even weather (grass skirts popularized by the Hawaiian, wouldn't have existed if they dwelled in the snow capped mountains)
Fashion is a statement, an expression of individuality, lifestyle, choice, and of where we're  headed, be it to the office or beach, the clothes are a big give away.
Fashion changes with time (change norms as the most fashionable thing to do), and true style comes from adapting to the change to suite each individuals own personal needs. the key is, knowing and finding  what looks good on "You".
What looks good on your best friend, or favorite Celeb. may not look good on you. What flatters & dazzles them may not flatter you, like wise, what flatters you might not flatter them, (as impossible as it seems, the most beautiful people with the best bodies don't necessarily look great in absolutely everything).
The most fashionable people know what looks good on them, what flaunts, and accentuates only the good parts, and what doesn't, explaining why they always look great! Well at least almost always :) (hey no one's perfect).

Tacky vs. chic

Fashion changes, well okay, dah!.......the point is some fashion ensembles have vintage potential and some don't......that's what separates the fads from the keepers......it's the simple difference between "vintage glamour" and "garage SALE" consequences

Santa & The Color Red...Well lets see know Santa also known as (*check list to the right) has been a cherished character for eons, perhaps even before <gasp> before fashion was understood.

Considering how fashionably stone aged people way back then where, Santa was perhaps envisioned as a pretty well dressed personality with a rather a unique style that made people pass a second glance at.
Color in “those” days was pretty limited. Those ancient folks only knew of basic black, a color way to formal and serious for someone who embodies, ‘jolly’, white, well you wouldn’t want to camouflage, an icon (against the snow) now would ya?  The rest of the color palette comprised of drab grays, unspeakably dull blues, dreary browns, dull dowdy khaki, and so forth………ok don’t even get me started on why it would be just plain WRONG to put a long adored idol in those dingy colors …….
Since symbols remain unchanged year after year, century after century,  ‘RED’ appeared as a tolerable color for good old Saint Nick to live with, well pretty much for eternity without dozing of with boredom as far as his duds went.
It’s a confident, vibrant, and cheerful color, which mingles well with the merry- ness of the holiday season, it’s a color that make Mr. Clause shine and ‘stand out’ against the shrilling winter breeze, and blue-gray scenery. Plus red makes Clause look ‘extra’ generous and appealing to the kiddy crowd that look forward to his giving ways every single year. So whether you've been nice or naughty
One thing however remains a mystery, "who designed his famous ensemble"??? :-)
